I've been looking for opinions about Knujon too. Other than the accused companies and their associates, I've not seen much criticism. I think ICANN are slightly irritated, but ICANN should crack down on spammers and scammers more.
McColo was mostly controlling botnots and hosting malware, as far as spam sending goes. So blocking their ranges at MTAs would have had no impact on spam. Their ranges were covered by things like the CBL and PBL.

I agree impact on received spam at a lot of places isn't huge, and we are only clawing back 8 to 12 months worth of growth in spam. But at least it is in the right direction for once.
