They are attempting to "untrain" any anti-spam system you have. The goal is to poision the words list. This is one of the new "Macro-SPAM" issues causing ISPs much pain.
I doubt it's just being silly or funny or cute... I get my share of phishing emails of all sorts, and I'll bet it is probably more of that nature than anything else...
It certainly could be a client misconfiguration, but I really doubt that too..
I've also seen a few of the "to and from me" emails in my inbox(s). Sometimes the headers show you a bit more info .....
I got one of those too, and got interested.
Turns out that they actually meant what they wrote: they did send a separate mail containing "interesting informations" (ahem), which got caught by my spamfilter.
This mail is so low-profile that it will almost certainly bypass spamfilters. And it's pretty hard for a spamfilter to drop one mail based on the content of another...
